I have been to Baguio City, twice in my life. The first trip was ten years ago when I was 12. And just recently, last February for the Panagbenga Festival. And because of its cold weather and abundance of strawberries, peanut brittle and choco flakes, not to mention wearing 'Winter Wardrobe' (knitted sweaters, berets, etc.) and most importantly, the picturesque mountain views with towering pine trees, I have come to love the place. So it is only right that I dedicate an artwork for the City of Pines, the summer capital of the Philippines. I may not be an environmentalist holding a picket along with the locals, but this I guess is the best I can do as an artist - to inspire people that the beautiful riches of our country is in our natural resources, we must take good care of it, as stewards of God's creation. I thank you. :)

We had a spontaneous trip to Tagaytay to maximize the long weekend and escape Manila Heat. It was only planned the night before. Our first stop was at the Pagcor Casino, the good news is I just turned 22 (no entrance for minors 21 years old and below) but there were no cameras allowed. But that wasn't the kind of fun that my cousins and I had in mind. So we then took our merienda and headed off to Taal Vista and there was outdoor arcade overlooking the Taal Volcano, it was way cheaper and was all good clean fun. We had dinner at Summit Ridge, complete with grocery stores, tiangges and restaurants so you won't miss Manila that much. We stayed for the night at Character Hotel, TICC , it boasts its olympic-sized swimming pool, but since we weren't that masochistic to have a night swimming considering the cool temperature at night so we planned to take a dip after the Easter mass the morning after. Just posting some of our pics in our Boracay Family Trip (Sept. 23-27, 2011 during the TD Pedring) We stayed at Facebook Resort (formerly Villa Criselda) a stone's throw away from D' Talipapa. Weekend was still cloudy, so we were able to enjoy the sand and the sea, and then island hopping and snorkelling on Sunday afternoon. My last week of July (24-30) was fully booked with special events here and there... I must agree that the world is a bigger school, you have to take everything as a fun learning experience like a sponge, especially now that I'm beginning a long and interesting career in the creative world of Advertising Design ;) Art at the Shang 2011 I was able to attend the last day of the exhibit with two of my bestfriends since pre-school. And coincidentally most of the artworks there have subjects that show the joy of youth, color and life. I'm happy that in a way, I got them interested in trying out a hobby in painting :D Philippine STAR's 25th Anniversary 25 years is how long we are enjoying our Freedom of Speech & Truth in the Media (and also in Advertising) One of the perks in working in an ad agency, is getting invited to major, major media events like this (we're awarded one of Top 25 agencies)  Highlight of the night was my winning shot with FVR. ;) ...

It's about time for me to start taking my work and 'artsy' hobbies to the next level...  Just to share what I do everyday, I work as a Graphic Artist from Monday to Friday, and when I have spare time I also blog. So basically, I need to refuel my creative juices!  And the good news is there are so many events in and around the Metro, dedicated for both the artists and the art-lovers, this July and August... Art at the Shang 2011 is an ongoing exhibit participated by different artists that comprise the Saturday Group. It runs from July 16 to 24, held at the Grand Atrium at Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City. I remember during one of my painting classes when we were required to visit the Saturday Group exhibit so we can get inspiration from the works of the artists, but I had thesis back then, now there's no stopping me!
