Comment FTW! :)


Yesterday, I came across an ad from Impulse Co to like and comment on a post by Somnium-et-Vita regarding a chance to win Monte Carlo premiere night tickets for 2... I was third to comment on which of the actresses I like best with Leighton Meester; we were 45 all-in-all, luckily I won via the number generator. I have to thank the person responsible for the contest, fellow blogger, Ms. Honey Andrade.. :)

So I invited my mom for a movie date tonight. This made my day... it's really cool. I guess this is still related to the category I have for Thursday-- something about Technology and Promos... I remembered how my sister would tune in for the radio promos and be the lucky caller of the day; Much has changed about the mechanics, and it's all because of the popularity of Online Social Networking sites, like Facebook. ;)

Save Baguio Pine Trees

I have been to Baguio City, twice in my life. The first trip was ten years ago when I was 12. And just recently, last February for the Panagbenga Festival. And because of its cold weather and abundance of strawberries, peanut brittle and choco flakes, not to mention wearing 'Winter Wardrobe' (knitted sweaters, berets, etc.) and most importantly, the picturesque mountain views with towering pine trees, I have come to love the place. So it is only right that I dedicate an artwork for the City of Pines, the summer capital of the Philippines. I may not be an environmentalist holding a picket along with the locals, but this I guess is the best I can do as an artist - to inspire people that the beautiful riches of our country is in our natural resources, we must take good care of it, as stewards of God's creation. I thank you. :)

The Gap

But there is this gap.  It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions." -Ira Glass What drove me to post this inspiring video is the fact that one work of mine has been finally put up in EDSA. It's like a milestone to be celebrated, but it falls under the kind of work that you're not really very proud to show... not because it's that bad, it's just trying to be good. I am not going to name-drop that certain brand, and I have to say that the artist does not always have the call on how can it be done solely, there are a lot more people involved in the creative process.  This is just the beginning and so I hope and pray that in the near future, I'll get past the stage where I just work for the sake of getting the job done but because it was...
